Chris has 32 years of experience in branding and marketing. He has been based in Kenya for 25 years and during that time has built winning brands for clients in 22 African countries.
He began as a Marketer at Diageo and Bass plc and then developed a career in Advertising with McCann-Erickson, Saatchi & Saatchi and Young & Rubicam. He rose to be the Africa and Indian Ocean Chairman of Young & Rubicam Brands, responsible to WPP plc for the leadership of a pan- African Advertising Agency network, and its local and international client brands.
He has served as Chairman of the Kenyan Advertising Practitioners’ Association and Council member of the Marketing Society of Kenya.
In 2013, Chris launched the African division of The Brand Inside.
Headquartered in London, www.thebrandinside.com is a brand-led behaviour change consultancy. TBI helps organisations to define or redefine their Brand Promise, and then aligns staff behaviours to deliver that Promise to customers.
As such The Brand Inside is at the forefront of developing more modern and productive corporate cultures in African companies. It also advises an increasing number of Foreign Direct Investment projects and Private Equity Companies on the Continent.

Chris is now a recognised opinion leader. His observations on branding and company culture in Africa, and the relationship between the two, are printed in national newspapers in 8 African countries, including weekly columns in The Star in Kenya and Uganda’s New Vision. An anthology of these columns will be published in 2018.
